Illinois Junior Beef Association EDGE Conference Registration Form

A one-day event designed students looking to enhance their understanding of cattle reproduction. Participants have the opportunity to learn about industry-leading reproductive technologies, genetic preservation, and selection. Hands-on workshops, social activities, and a tour are all included. Seminar speakers include veterinarians, embryologists, bull stud representatives, and breeders. Participants must be IJBA members ages 12-21. Attendees are responsible for their own transportation.

Now is your opportunity to tour Keller Veterinary Service and see where the magic happens with embryo transfer.

1:00-2:00 p.m. What makes a donor cow? 

Dr. Dan Shike, Cody Lowderman and Gary Dameron will share their selection process and considerations for selecting a donor cow. Each of these representatives represent a different portion of the industry – academia/research, show cattle, and seedstock, which may impact their selection criteria. 

2:30-3:30 p.m. Glove up with Dr. Buzz Iliff 

Join Dr. Buzz Iliff as he shares his vast knowledge on the good and the bad of using donor cows. During this time attendees will experience a hands-on activity with reproductive tracts.
