IBA is excited to announce the formation of the Illinois Junior Beef Association (IJBA). With a membership base already built from IBA family and junior memberships, it’s time for junior members to come together in their own association.

The IJBA strives to provide educational and career opportunities through competition and fellowship in order to develop leadership skills and integrity in young people interested in the Illinois cattle industry.

The 2013 Illinois State Fair will be the kick-off event of the IJBA and will include the first annual membership meeting, election of directors, and an ice cream social.

The IJBA will be governed by a 9-member board (2 directors representing each IJBA district and one at-large director), which will be elected each year during the annual meeting of the IJBA. Applications to run for a position on the IJBA Board of Directors are due by June 1, 2013 and can be downloaded by clicking on the Board of Directors button below.

Junior memberships are available for any young person from birth through their 22nd birthday. Dues are $25. To participate in IJBA events members must be 8 years of age by Jan. 1 of the current year and have not yet turned 22 by Jan. 1 of the current year.

The IJBA offers a world of opportunities to youth. Members of the IJBA are eligible for: receiving the January/February and July/August (junior-focused) issues of Illinois Beef magazine, participation in junior activities including conferences, shows and other contests, leadership training, scholarships, and the internship.

Wondering if you’re already recognized as a member? Contact the IBA office to find out!
